Sitelocal builds and runs websites and Google Ads for Australian local businesses. This page explains what we collect, why, and what we do not do.
What we collect
When you fill in our form: your business name, town, email address, and your phone number if you give it. If you upload a logo or photos, we keep those files.
When we build your preview we also read your existing website, if you have one, the same way a search engine does.
When someone visits a site we run for you, we count the visit. We store a one-way hash of the visitor’s address and browser, which lets us tell one person visiting six times from six people visiting once, and does not let us identify anyone.
What we do with it
We use it to build your preview, to run your ads, and to email you about your own site. That is all.
We do not sell your information. We do not share it with anyone except the services we need to run yours: Google for ads, our email provider for the emails we send you, and our hosting provider.
Your card
Ad spend is separate and billed to you directly by Google. We never hold your card for ad spend.
Your monthly fee is handled by our payment provider. We never see or store your card number.
Getting it back, or getting rid of it
Email hello@sitelocal.com.au and ask. We will send you what we hold about you, or delete it, within a reasonable time.
If you leave, your site and your domain go with you.
Complaints
Email hello@sitelocal.com.au first — we would rather fix it. If we cannot, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
